Waide C. Kennedy, 93, of Ellwood City passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Haven Nursing Home following an extended illness.
Born December 23, 1927 in Slippery Rock Township, he was the son of the late Alfred and Lyda Hogue Kennedy . He was married to Roberta Brown Kennedy in May 1951. She passed away on January 12, 1996.
Waide was a Veteran of the US Army where he served with the 11th Airborne during WWII. He retired in 1971 from Mathews Conveyor after 21 years as a fitter. Waide was a longtime and current member of the Castlewood Alliance Church.
Survivors include son, Chris (Patty) Kennedy of Ellwood City, brother, Clifford (Nancy) Kennedy of Ellwood City; two granddaughters, Amanda (Frank) Druschel and Jessica (Daniel) Daugherty; two great grandchildren, Gabriella Druschel and Elliot Daugherty.
He was preceded in death by his brother Lester K. Kennedy; sister in law Roberta “Bobby” Kennedy and his great grandson Carter Druschel.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday October 3, 2021 from 4:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. His Pastor Rev. James O’Hara will officiate.
Interment will follow in Harmony Baptist Cemetery.
