Jean A. McQuiston, 93, of Wampum passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021.
Born October 14, 1927 in Slippery Rock, she was the daughter of the late John D. and Elizabeth Ann Kenny Shelatree.
Jean graduated from Wampum High School in 1945. She worked as an office manager for B&W for many years and also was the Wampum Tax Collecter for 18 years. Jean loved working on her house and in the yard, and always kept it in good shape. She enjoyed the NFL and College Basketball and especially enjoyed running football pools with her friends and family. Jean had a special relationship with her granddaughter Melissa whom she loved very much.
Survivors include granddaughter, Melissa (Josh Cooper) McQuiston of Bessemer; her sister who was her best friend, Phyllis Tillia of Chewton; niece, Lori Tillia-Meeker of Chewton; great nephew, Charles Meeker of Chewton; and her great niece Eleanor Meeker of Butler.
She was preceded in death by her son, Randy McQuiston in 2012, and two daughters Becky Sanders in 2020, and Judith Ann in infancy .
A private funeral service for the family will be held at the Marshall Funeral Home. Rev. Elizabeth Wallace of the Wampum Presbyterian Church will officiate.
Interment will follow in Clinton Cemetery.
