Come home to Ellwood City, and participate in the 2021 Annual Fund Drive at the Ellwood City Area Historical Society,
Established over 32 years ago in 1988, the Ellwood City Historical Society has been a lasting monument to how the power of community can overcome overwhelming adversity. The Historical Society has united in harmony with one another and the natural world and continues to offer many lessons today.
The Historical Society is planning to recognize the best athletes, past and present, who were born in Ellwood City or who went to Lincoln or Riverside High Schools. The sports figures will be recognized at the Society’s regular monthly meeting night, Monday September 13th at the Connoquenessing Country Club. Marino Parasenzo, a syndicated sports writer, will be the guest speaker.
The Historical Society would like thank the community from supporting them by visiting, shopping, and contributing to the Society. In the past year, the support from the community has led to the PeeWees Hot Dog display being rebuilt, the Trolley is being renovated, a 1967 Ellwood’s Majestic Theater newsreel film taken during the Ellwood City Diamond Jubilee, annual scholarships have been reviewed.
However, there is more work that needs done. The Society is asking to consider making a tax-deductible gift donation and join in on the Annual Fund Drive. Because the Society does not receive no state or federal appropriations, private contributions are to the growth and sustainability of the Historical Society. The fund drive is a sixty day period, it began on June 15th and will run until August 15th.
“We hope the separation will provide contributions that will help provide growth and help transform our ability to preserve and benefit future generations” said Andy Kindle, who has been Fundraising Chairman for over thirty years.
