Betty A. Campbell, 90, of New Castle, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at Good Samaritan Hospice, in Cabot, PA, following a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late John T. and Marie F. (Dooley) Atchison and was born October 29, 1930, in Indianapolis, IN.
She is survived by her children; Cindy Wagner (Tom) of Karns City, PA, Doug Campbell of North Tustin, CA, Becky Whitla (Tim) of Port Orange, FL, Amy DiMuccio of New Castle, grandchildren; Steve (Candy) Wagner, Jeff (Katie) Wagner, Raymond Whitla, Alex Whitla, Reid Campbell, Kelly Campbell, Victor DiMuccio, great-grandchildren; Matthew, Julia, Ellie, Haddie, Dimitri, Francesca, Charlotte and Patrick, one brother; Jack T. Atchison (Ruth) of New Brighton, two sisters-in-law; Anna Mae Atchison and Ruth Ann Shoop both of Beaver Falls, and one brother-in-law; David (Peggy) Campbell of Columbiana, Ohio as well as many nieces and nephews
She was a 1948 graduate of Lincoln High School. She worked for First Federal Savings in Beaver Falls and finally was employed by Householder Insurance Agency in Beaver Falls. She met and married the love of her life R. Eugene Campbell, in 1953 and they were married 52 years. Betty enjoyed baking, gardening, reading, playing cards and listening to music, especially Bon Jovi, who she saw live three times.
She is preceded in death by her husband, R. Eugene Campbell and two siblings: Gerald E. Atchison and Shirley M. Scrivo.
The family will receive friends from 4pm-7pm, on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, and also 10:00am-11:00am, on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at Turner Funeral Home, with a Funeral Service following at 11:00am, Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at Turner’s with Pastor Tod Custer, Officiating.
Interment will follow in Clinton Cemetery located in Wampum.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations, in Betty’s name to Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia 134 Marwood Rd in Cabot, PA 16023 or to the New Castle Public Library Bookmobile Program located at 207 North Street New Castle, PA 16101
