Mildred L. Czar, 93, of Ellwood City, died Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Beaver Valley Health and Rehab Center. She was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Mary (Mance) Czar and was born October 7, 1927, in North Sewickley Twp.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews; Ruth Lehmann and her husband Art of Ellwood City, Robert Smithson and his wife Susan of Oregon, Lois Adams of Zelienople, Paul Czar and his wife Sharon of North Sewickley, Mary Goehring and her husband Jim of Marion Twp, Margaret Lonkert and her husband Jeff of Arizona, John Czar of Slippery Rock and numerous great nieces and nephews
Milly was a graduate of Lincoln High School, in 1947. She then attended Slippery Rock College and The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, where she received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree, in Nursing and she was also an Instructor of Nursing at the University of Pittsburgh. She also attended the University of California at San Francisco and then studied Cardiovascular Nursing at University of California at Berkley. She also served on the faculty at the University of California as a Professor of Clinical Nursing. She retired in 1994 from the VA Medical Center, in San Francisco. While living in California she attended Westminster Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon and a trustee. Upon returning to Pennsylvania, she attended Providence Baptist Church where she was a teacher of the Adult Sunday School Class. She was a strong Christian Lady and had faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She also loved to worship the Lord every day, she loved singing the old hymns. She loved music, especially symphonies and operas. She enjoyed going to The Chautauqua Institution with her family and listening to speeches, concerts, and opera. She was involved with the Autobahn Society and loved watching birds and enjoying nature walks. She was a loving sister, aunt, and friend, to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her siblings; Anna Brewer, Catherine Guy, Mary Czar, Helen Boots, Agnes Czar, Elizabeth Smithson, Thomas Czar and one niece Joyce Ruef.
Friends may call on the family from 4:00pm-6:00pm on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, with a Funeral Service following at 6:00pm at the TURNER FUNERAL HOME of ELLWOOD CITY with Pastor Dennis Arndt, officiating.
Interment will be in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park in Rochester, PA.
