Even though the high school wresting season has ended, the Ellwood City Wrestling Booster Club is working to continue to raise funds for their team.
With many prior fundraising activities cancelled due to COVID-19, the club will be holding a fundraising raffle to support junior high and varsity wrestling.
The winner will receive a $500.00 gift certificate to Milk House Meats.
The raffle is $10.00 per tip donation and can be purchased online.ย The raffle closes once all tickets have been sold.
The Ellwood City Wrestling team will be losing four graduating seniors this year – Damon Bumgardner, Rodney Grymes, Ryan Nazari and Elijah Shelby – but currently has two athletes, Lucas Moody and Derek Allen, moving up from junior high to Varsity next year and one girl on the junior high team (Cheyenne Berglund) who will be joined by Jordan Quintanilla, who has been wrestling for REC for many years.

During the off-season, wrestlers are encouraged to keep attending local wrestling clubs like Coach John Flemingโs Wrecking Crew Club (www.facebook.com/groups/753418565281613) in New Castle. Anyone who is interested can check it out (one free practice – grades 6-12).
The Wrestling Boosters hope to support more local business by doing an โEllwood City Gift Basketโ in the near future.
Those interested in joining the wrestling club, or if anyone has questions on the raffle, please contact us the boosters at ecjhvwrestling@gmail.com.
