According to a social media post by the organizers Wednesday night, the Ellwood City Playground Program has been temporarily suspended.
According to the post: “Effective Thursday June 18th, the Playground Program at Ewing Park is temporarily suspended. This evening [Wednesday] we were notified that an individual that participates in the Playground Program on a daily basis was exposed to an individual who has tested positive for Covid-19.”
“While no participant has tested positive to our knowledge, out of an abundance of caution the program is going to be temporarily suspended until the test results of the exposed individual are in. The safety and well-being of the participants and counselors are our utmost priority. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”
The playground program started on Friday, June 12 with registration available for those children in the Ellwood City School District.
