Mary E Freed, 77, of Big Beaver Borough passed away after a lengthy illness on Thursday, March 5, 2020.
Born August 14, 1942 in Wampum, she was the daughter of the late Ira James Cook and Myrtle E Seaburn Cook Mora . She was married to Martin G Freed who passed away on August 1, 2004.
She retired from Phoenix Glass, before working for Mines and Meadows as a greeter and saleswoman. Mary enjoyed spending time shopping and eating out. Her most cherished time was spent caring for family and friends.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol L (Bud) Anderson of Koppel, Darlene R (Jimmy) Rea of Big Beaver, two sons, Mark G Freed of Wampum, David J. Freed of Beaver Falls. A brother, James (Marilyn) Cook of Indiana; and a sister in law, Carol June Barber. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michael Guthrie, Crystal (Christian) Mahoney, Stacy Cunningham, Stephanie Guthrie (Michael Casciato), Robert (Marlynn) Guthrie, Katie (Logan) Beckinger, Mark Freed, Matthew Freed, David Freed Jr, Brian (Britney) Rea, Emily Rea and 24 great grandchildren. Also, by a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and her dearest friend Robert Shirley all whom she greatly loved.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters Carol Ann Shirley and Donna Jean Cook.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday March 11, from 2:00 until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 at the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum.
Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
