The Lincoln High School Caring Team will be accepting donations for the community food bank before the boys’ final home basketball game Tuesday night.
Fans attending the Senior Night game are asked to bring non-perishable food to help support people in our community who are facing food insecurity. There is a particular need for canned fruit, tuna, and soups, as well as cereals, mac and cheese, and toilet paper. Caring team members will also be collecting cash donations to support the program. All donations are welcomed and appreciated.
“Supporting our community food bank has been a years-long commitment of the Caring Team,” said advisor Rick DeLoia.
“Members volunteer to help on the first Thursday of the month, when a truck comes from the Pittsburgh food bank to Ellwood City. The club has sponsored periodic food drives over the years. Also, earlier this school year, the Caring Team sponsored a faculty dress-down day for the food bank.”
In addition to efforts in support of the food bank, the Lincoln High School Caring Team also works to raise awareness and funds for the Caring Place for Grieving Children. That has also been a long term effort of the club.
Team members will also be collecting cash donations to support the program.
The Ellwood City Wolverines (9-10 overall) host section foe Neshannock on Tuesday with a 7:30 p.m. varsity tip-off.
