The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities. Information is available by calling the library at 724-758-6458.
Activities taking place this week include
MONDAY, JULY 1
10:00 a.m. – “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. It is designed to help reduce stresses of everyday life. All adults are welcome.
TUESDAY, JULY 2
10:00 a.m. – “Jump Start to Kindergarten,” a program designed for children entering kindergarten in the fall. The program focuses on reviewing – in a fun way – what children need to know to begin school. Registration is required, so call the library for more information. 724-758-6458.
6:30 p.m. – “Family Laptime,” designed for babies as young as 6 months of age, toddlers and preschoolers. This is an interactive, family event and features stories, songs, games, finger plays and more. Registration is requested.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 3
10:00 a.m. – “Alien Underpants and UFO’s,” a space themed program for kids that have completed Kindergarten and 1st grade.
11:00 a.m. – “Alien Underpants and UFO’s,” a spaced themed program for kids that have completed 2nd and 3rd grades.
1:00 p.m. – “Building Buddies,” a program of fun and learning for toddlers and preschoolers. This interactive program allows kids to explore building and socialization skills. No registration is required.
3:00 p.m. – “Creative Writing Workshop,” for students in seventh grade and up. This group meets twice each moth to share their work and discuss writing tips and techniques.
6:30 p.m. – “Evening Book Group for Adults,” the group will be discussing the book “The Golden Hour” by T. Greenwood.
THURSDAY, JULY 4
The Ellwood City Area Public Library will be closed in observance of the Fourth of July holiday. Normal hours will resume Friday July 5.
SATURDAY, JULY 6
10:00 a.m. – “Silly Science and Lego Day,” featuring fun and silly science experiments, robotics, and Lego building. This monthly program is designed for children in kindergarten through 6th grade. No registration is required.
Noon – “20 Something Book Group,” the group will be discussing the book “Sand” by Hugh Howey.
SAVE THE DATE
Saturday July 13, 2019 the Ellwood City Area Public Library will be hosting an “American Girl Doll” party. There will be three sessions, 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., bring your favorite doll or stuffed animal. Reservations are required. One adult per child.
Saturday July 20, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Star Wars characters will be visiting the Ellwood City Area Public Library.
