The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities. Information is available by calling the library at 724-758-6458.
Activities taking place this week include
MONDAY, JUNE 17
10:00 a.m. – “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. It is designed to help reduce stresses of everyday life. All adults are welcome.
1:30 p.m. – “Afternoon Book Group for Adults,” they will be discussing the book “Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend” by Katerina Bivald.
TUESDAY, JUNE 18
10:00 a.m. – “Jump Start to Kindergarten,” a program designed for children entering kindergarten in the fall. The program focuses on reviewing – in a fun way – what children need to know to begin school. Registration is required, so call the library for more information. 724-758-6458.
6:30 p.m. – “Family Laptime,” designed for babies as young as 6 months of age, toddlers and preschoolers. This is an interactive, family event and features stories, songs, games, finger plays and more. Registration is requested.
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 19
10:00 a.m. – “Alien Underpants and UFO’s,” a space themed program for kids that have completed Kindergarten and 1st grade.
11:00 a.m. – “Alien Underpants and UFO’s,” a spaced themed program for kids that have completed 2nd and 3rd grades.
1:00 p.m. – “Building Buddies,” a program of fun and learning for toddlers and preschoolers. This interactive program allows kids to explore building and socialization skills. No registration is required.
THURSDAY, JUNE 20
10:00 a.m. – “Puppet Theater Workshop,” designed for students in 4th grade and up. The kids create plays and then meet throughout the summer to rehearse the plays using marionettes and puppets. Then, in late July, those participating present their plays to family, friends and other Summer Reading Program-goers.
Noon – “Food for Thought Book Group,” a book discussion group for students in ninth through twelfth grades. They will be discussing the book “Wintersong” by S. Jae-Jones.
6:00 p.m. – “Adult Knitting Group,” which meets weekly to work on individual projects. New members are welcome.
SATURDAY, JUNE 22
2:00 p.m. – “Summertime Tea Fundraiser,” at Calvin Presbyterian Church located at 615 Crescent Ave. Ellwood City, PA 16117.
SAVE THE DATE
Saturday July 13, 2019 the Ellwood City Area Public Library will be hosting an “American Girl Doll” party. There will be three sessions, 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., bring your favorite doll or stuffed animal. Reservations are required. One adult per child.
Saturday July 20, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Star Wars characters will be visiting the Ellwood City Area Public Library.
