Roger R. McPheron, 85

Roger R. McPheron, 85, of Little Beaver Twp. passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019 at his residence following an extended illness.

Born March 22, 1934 in Johnson Twp., Ohio, he was the son of the late Charles Ross and Ellen (Houk) McPheron. He was married to Alice Sheetz McPheron for 51 years when she passed away October 20, 2009.

Roger retired from Y&N Railroad in Youngstown where he was a brakeman and conductor. He proudly served in the Marine Corp during the Korean War. He was an active member and former commander of the VFW Post# 8106 in New Galilee. Roger was a charter member of the Veterans Honor Guard. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge in Millersburg, PA. Roger always had a large and productive garden that he shared with many. He was an avid Cleveland Brown fan and loved his dog Lucy.

Survivors include three sons, Robert (Mary Ann) McPheron of East Palestine, Ohio, Thomas McPheron at home, Michael (Mary Lou) McPheron of Slippery Rock; daughter, Katherine (William) Opperman of Enon Valley; two sisters, Nora Lehman of Millersburg,PA, Mary Hoover of Kinsman, Ohio; brother, David McPheron of Hubbard, Ohio;. 2 granddaughters, 5 grandsons, and 2 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Roger was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Duganne.

Friends will be received on Friday May 17 from 1 pm until the time of the funeral service at 3 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main Street Wampum. Full Military rites will be offered by the Veterans Honor Guard. Final interment will follow in Clinton Cemetery.
