Festival Fireworks Fundraiser: Custom Logo Apparel Available, In Person Donation Day Set

The Ellwood City Police Department officers donated $1,000 to the “Save the Ellwood City Fireworks 2019”. Ptl. Matthew Kennedy, Lt. David Kingston representing Ellwood City Police Department officers, George Celli; Ellwood City Borough Council, Eric Rayner who started the campaign to save the fireworks, Ellwood City Borough Mayor Anthony Court, Matthew Liberatore representing the Ellwood City Police Department officers and Justin Neupauer from Alborn Tire.

Donations have started rolling into the Save the Ellwood City Fireworks fundraiser.

Eric Rayner, the 26-year-old Ellport man who is leading the fundraising effort, said that as of April 30, donations total nearly $3,000 of the $5,000 needed to save the fireworks.

The most recent donation was a $1,000 donation from the Ellwood City Police Department officers.

“I’m overwhelmed by the amount of support we’ve gained in just the few days we’ve been accepting donations!” Rayner said. “Our community has really stepped up and put their money where their mouth is. I’m strongly encouraged that we will raise above and beyond what we need. But there’s still more work to do. I’m excited to see how it plays out!”

He also stated that he received a call from Lawrence County Commissioner Dan Vogler, whose office plans to pledge $750 to help reach the $5,000 needed.

Part of the fundraiser includes selling of Tshirts and other items featuring a custom logo in support of the fireworks. That apparel is now available through Venezie’s Sporting Goods online store. Orders can be placed by clicking here.

And if you would like to meet Eric face to face to give a donation, he will be joined by Rayleen Boots, Chair of the Festival Committee at National Grind Coffee & Tea Shop on Sunday May 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“Come make a donation or just come to join us for a cup of coffee,” Rayner said.

If you do not want to donate online, or if your need a receipt Tax write off then you can donate at any WesBanco location via a check. Your check must be made out to the Ellwood festival committee and MUST have “fireworks account” written in the memo to ensure to goes to the correct account.
