The Youngstown State University Western Equestrian team has qualified for the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association Western Semifinals, March 16- 17, at Utah State University in Logan, Utah.
Stephanie Dessler, a Biology major from New Galilee, qualified individually and will also be a part of the YSU team advancing to Utah next week.
Additional individual qualifiers from YSU include, Emily Bevan, a Business Administration major from Youngstown; Celeste Snyder, a double major in Public Health and Biology from Youngstown; and Kayleigh Upole, an Exercise Science major from Warren, Ohio compete in IHSA Zone 2, Region 5.
The top four individuals and top three teams will advance to the National Championships May 2-5 in Syracuse, New York.
Equestrian Team helps bring the love and passion for horses to college and competes against other colleges in the North Eastern region of Ohio. The purpose of this organization is to promote student awareness of horse knowledge sports, and activities. The organization also provides students with the opportunity to learn and experience horse related activities and teaches student to respect horses by expanding their knowledge.
