Mrs. Agnes H. Zikeli, 96, of Ellwood City passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at the Ellwood City Medical Center.
Mrs. Zikeli was born on June 24, 1922 in Beadling, Pa to the late Anthony and Marguerite (Leymarie) Leymarie. She had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1940. During World War II she worked at the U.S. Steel Tube Mill in Ellwood City, and later as a beautician. She also worked as a sorter at Townsend for 20 years. Agnes is one of the oldest members of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed quilting, reading, walking, doing yard work and flower gardening at her home, and was an excellent cook and baked delicious pies. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother for her family who will deeply miss her.
Mrs. Zikeli is survived by her daughters, Suzanne (Dennis) Barto of Fort Myers, FL, and Marie Mack of Ellwood City, her sons, Mark (Pam) Zikeli of North Sewickley Twp., Ted (LeeAnne) Zikeli of Stafford, TX, and Tim (Betsy) Zikeli of Delafield, WI, her ten grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Louise Kalcevic of Ellport and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul S. Zikeli whom she married on July 12, 1946 and passed away on May 31, 1982, and her brothers, Louis and Edward Leymarie.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of the Service at 11:00 am at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Peggy Suhr-Barkley officiating. Interment will be at the Locust Grove Cemetery. The funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services.
