Another new business is ‘cracking’ in downtown Ellwood City.
Early in December local chiropractic practice, Allen Chiropractic made its way from Ellport to the main street of Ellwood. The practice is owned by John Allen.
Previously, Allen Chiropractic had been located across the street from Culligan Water and was there for seven years. Prior to Allen opening his own, he worked with his father in Beaver Falls for two years after he graduated from Sherman College of Chiropractics in 2010.
“I liked the idea of being able to help people without the use of invasive procedures,” Allen said.
Through these practices, Allen officers adjusting, some forms of physical therapy and sports medicine, as well as for locals drivers license physicals. He described his practice as more of an acute kind of pain center. Allen says he sees a lot of Ellwood City wrestlers and football players who just need some minor adjustments. His patients range from newborn babies to his oldest being a woman who had just turned 100 years old, most of these patients are from the Ellwood area, with some traveling from Beaver, Beaver Falls, and even as far as DuBois, Pennsylvania.
“Ellwood City has been so good to me,” Allen said, “I want to stay faithful to the people in this area.”
On top of many services offered, the practice also takes many different insurances. From the top being Highmark and UPMC, they also accept Medicare, United, and Sigma. If your insurance is not accepted, there is a set of cash pay available that will not change based on the extent of your treatments. Allen charges only by the session, not by the injury or needed services.
“I just want to help in the best way I can,” Allen added.
