Wolverine Boys Lose To Hopewell
Ellwood City fell to Hopewell on Monday, 72-67, even with freshman Steve Antuono scoring 20 points. Jake McGovern scored a game-high 21 points, on seven 3-pointers, to help Hopewell secure the victory.
Ellwood City and Hopewell were tied up at 36-36 at the half, but Hopewell gained the momentum during the third quarter, stretching out to a seven-point lead.
Antuono led the charge for the Wolverine offense and helped stage a rally late with eight points during the fourth period. He also contributed four rebounds and one steal.
Broc Boariu (16 points) and Rick Pitrelli (11 points) each sunk multiple three-pointers in defeat. Milo Sesti tapped into double digits, scoring 10 points for Ellwood City (2-for-7). Also chipping in for the Wolverines were Rocco Sesti (7 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals) and Rody Polojac (3 points, 2 rebounds). Pitrelli was a big defensive contributor as well, racking up five rebounds and one block.

Lady Wolverines Use Balance Scoring To Defeat Wilmington
After splitting games in their season-opening tournament this past weekend, the Lady Wolverines opened up with a home victory Monday night, easily dismissing the Greyhounds 76-24.
Three Wolverines reached double figures, led by senior Isabella Roth who finished with a game-high 23 points. Fellow senior Natalia Greco (18 points) and freshman Kyla Servick (18 points) also reached double figures.
Ellwood City (2-1 overall) led early, scoring 26 first-quarter points, and comfortably after three quarters, 66-23.
Lady Panthers Victorious Behind Marley Wolf
The Lady Panthers followed up a convincing, season-opening victory over Shenango on Saturday with a nail-biting, two-point victory over Sewickley Academy Monday night at home. Marley Wolf led Riverside with a game-high 25 points as the Lady Panthers disposed of Sewickley Academy 48-46. Lauren Bettencourt scored 25 points in the victory over Shenango
The Riverside boys basketball team has their home opener scheduled this evening.
