Earlier in November, a new shop opened at the intersection of Fifth Street & Glen Avenue, across the street from the Ellwood City McDonald’s restaurant. Within the tinted window facade lies 1 Hour PC, a small town tech shop specializes in low-cost services dealing with anything and everything in the tech department.
“We are the perfect place for people who don’t feel like spending an arm and a leg to get their computers fixed,” said the owner, Josh (last name withheld at owner request)
With free diagnostics, their services include security, recovery, installations, upgrades, repairs, and even web design. They not only will help with personal repairs but also repairs within businesses.
Josh, of Wampum, had previously worked for tech-giant Best Buy as a teenager gaining insight and experience in tech support and repair. He explained that he witnessed that some of the simple services repairs had been made out to be bigger then what they truly were, costing people more money. This led to him to introduce his business, 1 Hour PC.
He came up with the name of 1 Hour PC because if you have a business contract with them, they will come to your business within one hour of your call day or night.
“Its a huge incentive for most businesses because it usually takes days for a normal tech to come from another company,” explained Josh.
Their prices can range from $19.99 up to their most expensive services that cost $99.99. The price list and their services are as followed: for an OS Installation, it’s $59.99 for a new OS and $99.99 for a transfer, Data Transfer or Backup is $59.99 for up to 10GB or $99.99 for up to 20GB (this includes a DVD-R backup of data for free), Virus and Spyware Removal is $59.99 and includes a subscription to virus and spyware software, for a Password Reset it’ll be $39.99, for Hardware, Software, and or Memory Installation it’ll cost $19.99.
On top of their extensive computer repair options, they also offer services dealing with their 3D printer, and $5 chargers and accessories. These accessories include, but are not limited to: iPhone and Android changer cables, 2 pack portable phone stands, AUX cables, and LED Fidget Spinners.
“Having many areas of service keeps you from doing the same thing every day.”
1 Hour PC had been previously been located in New Brighton up until 2012 when they realized they had not been getting enough business. The move to Ellwood City was all because of the owner. Josh lives in the Wampum area and believed Ellwood City could offer him more business, due to the fact that it’s so close to many businesses and people in the area.
“I think Ellwood is going to benefit a lot from this being in their city,” concluded Josh.
1 Hour PC is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 12:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m. However, if an appointment needs to be made for later hours, within reason, accommodations can be made. For more information, you can visit their website by clicking here.

What is he hiding by not giving his last name? very strange
Yes really weird for a business owner to hide his name. Wonder if he’s hiding something? Will .org be showcasing other local businesses to?
We reach out to all new businesses in and around town to introduce ourselves with the opportunity for a ‘new business’ informational story. Thank you for your valued readership! EllwoodCity.org Staff
This is exactly what ellwood needs. I’m tired of going to best buy and getting ripped off.
