The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities. Information is available by calling the library at 724-758-6458.
Activities taking place this week include:
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 30
10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. – “Family Laptime,” designed for babies as young as 6 month of age, toddlers, and preschoolers. This is an interactive, family event and features stories, songs, games, finger plays and more. Registration is requested.
Come to the Library between 10:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. and walk around the library reading pages of Halloween books especially chosen by our staff. Read the pages one by one to reach the end and a bag of fun.
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 31
10:00 a.m. – “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. It is designed to help reduce the stresses of everyday life. All adults are welcome.
Come to the Library between 10:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. and walk around the library reading pages of Halloween books especially chosen by our staff. Read the pages one by one to reach the end and a bag of fun.
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 1
10:00 a.m. – “Preschool Storytime,” for preschoolers 3 to 5 years old. Those participating must be potty-trained. Stories, songs, games and finger plays are featured. Registration is requested.
6:00 p.m. – “Adult Knitting Group,” which meets weekly to work on individual projects. New members are welcome.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 3
10:00 a.m- “Silly Science and Lego Day,” a monthly program that features silly science experiments, Lego building and fun with robotics. The program is designed for students in kindergarten through sixth grade. No registration is required.
Noon- “Twenty-Something Book Discussion Group,” designed for college-aged students and people in their twenties. The book group meets monthly year-around for book discussion and pizza. The group will discuss “ All the Crooked Saints” by Maggie Stiefvater. Call the library for more information.
Noon- “Annual Literary Luncheon” at the Connoquenessing Country Club. The Event, which is sponsored by WesBanco, features a full luncheon menu along with home-baked cookies for dessert. A highlight of the day is the annual literary centerpiece game. Tickets are available for the luncheon at a cost of $25 each and may be obtained at the library. Seating is limited, so get your tickets now. Call the library for more information.
SAVE THE DATE
The library is planning a holiday Canvas Paint Party for Friday, November 16. The evening will feature a holiday theme along with food and wine. Seating is limited so call the library to obtain a ticket or for more information.

On Saturday November 10, at 1:00 p.m the library will host the characters from the Star Wars movies. No registration is needed. This event is open to kids and adults.
