Patricia Meade Kerr, 68 , of Harmony Baptist Road, New Castle (Shenango Twp.) passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday morning, October 16 2018, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Rochester, PA. on September 10, 1950 to the late Francis and Helen Byrd Meade.
Patty graduated from Laurel High School. She was a rural mail carrier for the New Castle Post Office. She was a longtime member of Word of Life Church in New Castle where she donated her time helping people. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing, gardening, and her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Samuel H. Hartzel Kerr, who died April 29 2014. She also lost a son, David Samuel Kerr, on November 10, 2017, and one brother: Richard “Dick” Meade.
She is survived by one son, Jason “Jay” Kerr of New Castle; and three daughters: Kimberly (and Tim) Holden and Patti (and Bobby) Green of MI; Dawn Marie (and Mark) Giangiuli of GA; her daughter-in-law, Kelsey Arkwright Kerr of Ellwood City, nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
She is also survived by two sisters, Susan Dreyer of New Castle and Terry (and Dom DeStasio) Shaw of Volant.
Friends will be received from 6:00- 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 18 2018 at the Word of Life Church, 326 Laurel Blvd., New Castle. Friends may also call from 11:00 AM – Noon, Friday at the Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at Word of Life Church in New Castle on Friday, October 19 2018 at 12:00 PM (Noon), with the Rev. Ted Saad, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Harmony Baptist Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in her name to “Feed My Sheep”.
