Library Activities For The Week Of October 8

The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities. Information is available by calling the library at 724-758-6458.

Activities taking place this week include:

MONDAY, OCTOBER 8:
6:30 p.m. – “Classics Book Group” The group will discuss the book, “The House is Paris” by Elizabeth Bowen

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 9:
10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. – “Family Laptime,” designed for babies as young as 6 month of age, toddlers, and preschoolers. This is an interactive, family event and features stories, songs, games, finger plays and more. Registration is requested.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 10:
10:00 a.m. – “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. It is designed to help reduce the stresses of everyday life. All adults are welcome.
3:00 p.m. – “Creative Writing Workshop,” for students in seventh grade and up. The group meets twice each month to share their work and discuss writing tips and techniques.
6:30 p.m. – “Evening Book Discussion Group for Adults” The group will discuss the book, “History of Wolves” by Emily Fridlund.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 11:
10:00 a.m. – “Preschool Storytime,” for preschoolers 3 to 5 years old. Those participating must be potty-trained. Stories, songs, games and finger plays are featured. Registration is requested.
3:00 p.m. “Hooked on Books Book Group” The group will discuss the book, “Genius, The Game” by Leopoldo Gout.
6:00 p.m. – “Adult Knitting Group,” which meets weekly to work on individual projects. New members are welcome.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 13:
10:00 a.m. “Silly Science and Lego Day,” a monthly program that features silly science experiments, Lego building and fun with robotics. The program is designed for students in kindergarten through sixth grade. No registration is required.
Noon – “Twenty Something Book Group” The group will discuss the book, “American Gods” by Neil Gaiman.

SAVE THE DATE

The library will be hosting its annual “Literary Luncheon” on Saturday, November 3, at the Connoquenessing Country Club. The event starts at Noon with the doors opening at 10:30 a.m. Featured are a full luncheon menu, prizes, games, chances to win gift baskets and more. There are a limited number of tickets, so call the library now for more information.
