Constance Jean Reeher, 68, of New Beaver Boro passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh following a short unexpected illness.
Born March 10, 1950 in Beaver Falls, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Dolores A Oravitz Bender. She was married to Albert “Ray” Reeher Jr for 49 years. He survives.
Connie graduated in 1968 from Sisters of the Holy Ghost Academy in Pittsburgh. She was the Director of Music for many years at both St. Monica in Wampum and St. Theresa in Koppel. Connie was a long time cantor for church services. Most recently Connie was the CCD Coordinator at St. Gregory in Zelienople. She enjoyed singing with the “Harmonaires Group” for many years. She also enjoyed painting, playing the cello, and traveling to many different and exotic countries. Connie’s most cherished time was spent with family.
In addition to her husband, Ray, survivors include one daughter, Sharon (Floyd) Williams of Ellwood City; five sisters, Mary Jo (Tom) Dayton, Paula (Paul) Landman, Katherine Bender, Julie (Jeff) Burke, and Jane (Frank) Schwartz; two brothers, David (Debbie) Bender and Rick (Charlene) Bender; eight grandchildren, Nicholas (Katya) Williams, Catherine (Levi) Illig, Rebecca (Michael) Davis, Joshua (Rylee) Williams, and Emily, Julia, Anna and Nathan Williams; and three great grandchildren, Hunter Illig, Genesis Williams, and Damen Davis.
She was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Natalie Williams .
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, October 3 from 5- 8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday at 10 am at the Holy Redeemer Church in Ellwood City. Rev. Father Mark Thomas will officiate the service.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the St. Gregory School Endowment for the Catholic education of young people or the Ellwood City Public Library.
