Mary Ann Gearhart, 84, of Foch St., Ellwood City passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Providence Care Center following a brief illness.
Born July 12, 1934 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Carmen and Ethel Stephenson Venezie. She was married to Harry E. Gearhart who passed away in 1982.
Mary Ann graduated from Lincoln High School in 1952. She worked at J.C. Penney’s as the catalog manager for many years. She also formerly worked at K-Mart and Value King. She was a member of Bell Memorial Presbyterian Church. Mary Ann enjoyed going to Challenges and she was in charge of the annual school crossing guard breakfast held at the Bell Memorial Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Jo Gearhart of Ellwood City, Stephanie (Bob) Bingle of Ellwood City; daughter in law, Dawn Gearhart of Amherst, NY; and four grandchildren, Shawn Gearhart of Amherst, NY, Amy (Ben) Michaux of Monaca, and Aaron and Airika Bingle, both of Ellwood City and one great grandson, Jackson Michaux..
She was preceded in death by a son, Mark Gearhart in 2000, a brother Robert Venezie in 2017, and her special friend, Jesse “Butch” Stanton.
Private services will be held. Final interment will take place in Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions in memory of Mary Ann may be made to the donor’s favorite charity or the Yellow Ribbon Girls.
