Mary R. Heaton, 91

Mrs. Mary R. Heaton, 91, of Big Beaver Borough, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018 at her residence with her loving family at her side.

Mrs. Heaton was born on February 13, 1927 in North Sewickley Twp. to the late Eugene and Cassie Viola (Moore) Sedgwick. She had attended Beaver Falls High School. During World War II, Mary worked at the Armstrong Cork plant in Beaver Falls as a shell assembler. While living in Chicago she worked for the Zenith TV company as a book keeper. Mary gave true meaning to the word “mom”. She was a first class home maker and everyone was always welcome at her house. She was selfless and very devoted to her family whom she enjoyed playing cards and board games with.

Mrs. Heaton is survived by her husband of 72 years, Samuel R. Heaton, Sr., her daughters, Karen (Mark) Knechtel of Ellwood City, and Sandy (Gary) Hudson of Beaver Falls, her sons, Samuel R. (Patsy) Heaton, Jr. of Wampum, and William (Belva) Heaton of Beaver Falls, her seven grandchildren, and her 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson, Jeffery Heaton, and her brothers, William, Eugene, and George Sedgwick.

As per Mary’s wishes there will not be a public visitation. The funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services.
