The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities. Activities taking place this week include:
MONDAY: 10 a.m. — “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. This program is usually held on Wednesdays, but will meet on Monday mornings instead during the summer months. “Coloring for Adults” is a program designed to help reduce the stresses of everyday life. Everyone is welcome.
TUESDAY: 6:30 p.m. – Puppet Theater Performances. The students will present the plays they have been rehearsing throughout the summer in Puppet Theater Workshop. All family, friends, and other Summer Reading Program-goers are welcome! Cast call is 5 p.m.
WEDNESDAY: 10 a.m. – “Summer Quest: Libraries Rock Finale” featuring Puppet Theatre plays and short performances from all of the Summer Quest groups.
1 p.m. “Building Buddies,” a new program of fun and learning for toddlers and preschoolers. This interactive program allows kids to explore building and socialization skills. No registration is required.
THURSDAY: Noon – “Food For Thought,” a book discussion group for students in ninth through 12th grades. The group will discuss the book, “The Raven Boys” by Maggie Stiefvater.
6:30 p.m. – “Fairytale Theater,” puppet shows will be performed by high school students at the stage in the children’s area of the library. All pre-school and early grade school children are welcome with their families. No registration is required. Cast Call is 5:30 p.m.
The library is now accepting book donations for the Annual Book Sale which is scheduled for Oct. 1-6. Books of all types in good condition may be dropped off at the library during regular business hours. The library will not accept textbooks of any type, nor magazines, Readers’ Digest Condensed Books, encyclopedias or VHS tapes.
