Joseph L. Doutt, 84, of North Beaver Twp., Wampum went to his eternal home with Jesus on Thursday, July 12, 2018. He passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born October 23, 1933 in Moravia, he was the son of the late Eugene and Grace Buttermore Doutt . He was married for 66 years to Mildred “Millie” Dukovich Doutt who survives.
Joseph graduated from Mt. Jackson High School where he was a star basketball player. He retired as a Supervisor from Cemex in 1995. Joe was a proud and loyal Patriot, having served in the Marine Corps for 6 years during the Korean War. A member of Victory Christian Center, Joe was a steadfast Christian. He was a master carpenter and jack of all trades. He loved to share his creations. He enjoyed gardening, canning, poetry, and cooking. There was nothing that he put his hand to that he did not succeed at accomplishing.
In addition to his wife, Millie, survivors include a son, Richard Doutt of Hermitage; daughter, Sherie (Scott) Campbell of New Wilmington; sister, Delores Boughter of New Castle; three grandsons, Scottie (Natalie) Campbell, Jordan (Kayla) Campbell, Aaron (Candace) Campbell; granddaughter, Sharayah (Daniel Follett) Campbell; two great grandchildren, Kingsten and Lyndon Campbell; many nephews, nieces with two beloved nephews, Wes Altman and Howard Boughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marlene Altman.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday July 16 from 4-6 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 am with Pastor Daniel Houck officiating. Military rites will be offered by the Veterans Honor Guard. Interment will follow in Clinton Cemetery.
