Virginia “Jinx” Hupko, 77, of the Ellwood Road, New Castle (Slippery Rock Twp.) went to be with the Lord on Thursday evening, June 21 2018.
She was born in New Castle, PA on June 15 1941.
Jinx graduated from New Castle High School in 1959. Jinx had worked at various supermarkets in our area, A & P in New Castle, and the Shop N’Save and ValuKing in Ellwood City.
She was a longtime active member of Harmony Baptist Church.
Jinx was known for her sense of humor and her friendships.
Virginia is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Raymond D. Hupko, whom she married on January 16 1960.
She is also survived by three sons and three daughters: Kathy (and Jim) Swartz of Austin TX; Colleen (and John) Yoho of Gilbert AZ; Todd (and Barb) Hupko of New Castle; Amy Hupko of Indiana PA; and Christian and Jamal Hupko.
Five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
She is also survived by one sister, Sally (and Fred) Sheffler of New Castle.
Friends will be received from 6-8 P.M. on Sunday, June 24, 2018 in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME, 500 Sixth Street. Ellwood City. There will also be additional visitation for one hour (1-2 P.M.) Monday at Harmony Baptist Church, 4103 Ellwood Road, New Castle. A Celebration of Virginia’s Life will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff MacKay and retired pastor, Rev. James Hockenberry, officiating. Burial will be in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
