Friday, June 15th:

Rustic Wood Sign Painting: Paint a rustic wood sign for $25 and help the Ellwood City Library from 6-8pm! Price includes all materials and complimentary cookies, fruit trays, coffee and punch. Contact the Library at 724-758-6458 to reserve your spot. No experience necessary & must be over 18.

“The Up and Down Detective Agency”: See the comedy “The Up and Down Detective Agency” at the Red Barn Theatre at 8pm on June 7-9 & 14-16. The year is 1938 and they’re about to take on one of their most puzzling cases and end up knee deep in a case that involves kidnapping and stolen diamonds. Call 724-431-1707 for reservations.

Frank Condell Fundraiser: The Ellwood City Volunteer Fire Department will be holding a spaghetti dinner from 3pm-6pm at the Perry Township Vol Fire Department to benefit Capt. Frank Condell and his family. Please come out and help us help him with this great fundraiser. The cost for the dinner is $10.00. ALL proceeds will go to the Condell family.

Join Master Gardener, Don Harper from 8am-9am at the Farmers Market – HOW TO ATTRACT MASON BEES, NATIVE BEES, NATIVE POLLINATORS, TO YOUR GARDEN. Orchard mason bees are solitary bees native to the western Pennsylvania area. They are not aggressive, as there are no hives to defend. They utilize small diameter holes to create nests of nectar and pollen on which they lay eggs, acting as pollinators for gardens and orchards. Learn how to attract these bees to your property. He also makes Mason Bee Houses and will have some available for sale.

Summer Concert Series: Join Ellwood City Community Enrichment as they present the Red Barn Players Sing Broadway on Main at the Community Plaza beginning at 7pm! FREE admission and bring your chair. “Summer of Art”: The Ellwood City Art Club is offering Saturday art classes lead by art club members. These classes are open to everyone and held at the Ellwood Area Family Center from 10am-12pm. Reservations are due 2 weeks prior to the class. Today’s drawing class is an oil painting of many skies for ages 12 & up. Call the Art Club at 724-758-2211 for more information.

Monday, June 18th:

Lillyville Clothing Closet: Lillyville Church of God’s newest ministry’s purpose is to provide gently used/new clothing to needy families and/or individuals in the Franklin Township and surrounding areas. If you know of anyone that is struggling with financial hardships and would benefit from this ministry, please pass along this information. Ellport Diner GRAND OPENING: Officially welcome the Ellport Diner to Ellport at their ribbon cutting at noon!

Thursday, June 21st:

Business Start-Up Essentials Workshop: The Ellwood City Area Chamber is hosting a Business Start-Up Essentials Workshop for anyone who wants to start a business and needs guidance. The workshop, provided by the Small Business Development Center – Duquesne University, will be from 10am-12pm. The cost is $25 and you can register at www.sbdc.duq.edu/EventsCalendar.

Lillyville Church of God Food Pantry: The Lillyville Church of God is accepting non-perishable items or monetary donations every 3rd Thursday of the month. These donations are given to Franklin Township residents.

Summer Story Times: Join the Beaver County Library System at the Franklin Township Community Park at 1:30pm for stories, songs, and crafts. Must register at 724-847-1450.

Rabies Vaccine Clinic: Feline Friends of Ellwood City is holding a Rabies Vaccine Clinic at Reed’s Services in Ellwood City from 10am-2pm. No appointments, walk-ins only.

Lawrence County Summer Sojourn: This outing gives people of all ages and experience levels a chance to have a river adventure. Registration fees includes a guided paddle, event t-shirt, and picnic at the end of the event. Register at www.co.lawrence.pa.us/lawrence-county-summer-sojourn.

Wampum Trail Town Festival: Celebrate local trails on both land and water! The festival includes learning about the North Country Trail, food vendors, craft vendors, and outdoor goods & services vendors.
