Reed’s Services has been a family owned and operated business since 2007 and has been growing ever since. What started out as a small operation has turned into well over 170 mowing and landscaping annual contracts and a complete landscaping supply store which includes pet and livestock feed and supplies.
Reed’s takes care of commercial, H.O.A.’S, industrial and residential properties in surrounding areas. Joe Reed oversees all areas of business and keeps everything running smoothly. If you call the office, Corinne Reed is the voice behind the phone. His three sons Joe Jr., Chad and Matt are the strongholds of the business, with each one of them supervising their own crew.
“We have all different kinds of mulches and landscape stones, edging, fertilizer and compost topsoil along with everything else that goes along with landscaping from edging to landscaping fabric, grass seed, fertilizers all of the tools, wheelbarrow, carts etc,” Joe Reed said. “We then got into the pet feeds and livestock feeds, which all came per request.”
About a year ago Reed’s started selling birdseed because an older woman came in and requested they do so.
“About a year ago an older woman came in asking why we didn’t have bird seed, and she told us she likes to buy birdseed,” He said. “So, we got 12 bags in and within a week all the birdseed was gone.”
The word got out around town and soon many people were requesting other different pet and livestock feed for dogs, horses and other animals.
“We have pretty much anything you would want for any pet or any livestock,” He said. “We have dewormers, supplements, vitamins, collars, harnesses, leads, pet toys, fencing, gates, feeders, water tanks, bedding, dog crates and kennels. We say we can feed everything from a hamster to a horse.”
New this spring/ summer season Reed’s is now offering dog licenses. People can now go to Reed’s Services and apply for a Lawrence County dog license on sight, they no longer have to go to the courthouse.
There is a Rabies Clinic being offered June 23 sponsored by the Feline Friends and Reed’s Services. The clinic is going to offer microchipping for $15 and distemper for $10.
“The last time we had this clinic we have over 300 people come, they were lined out the door and it was cold outside,” He said. “We are really excited about the clinic, and we plan on doing it quarterly. Its huge for the local people.”
Reed’s Service’s is family oriented business, who wants to help their local community. If you want something that they don’t have they are willing to get it for you.
