My father served in WWII. Did not talk about it at all. Got stories from people who who knew my father, that is all. The only thing I heard from him was he was there on D-day. Had 2 uncles who served also. My Dad”s bother (My Uncle), I never got to meet him. His picture is on the wall in the Ellwood City Borough building is there.
I was at the parade today. Seen friends of my father who served. My father and law did not serve, he was only 8 years old when my father was in Europe. He lived in Italy, 1944. He always told me the story on the last time he seen his father alive. His father was a Police Officer when they sent he to war. I also went to collage with someone served in Vietnam. The story stories was not pretty. I worked with a man who also severed in Vietnam. Same stories. This men served this country and should be remembered.
