The Perry Township Board of Supervisors monthly meeting overview for March and April. The board held their regular meetings for the months of March and April on the second Thursday of each months.
March:
The Perry Township Board of Supervisors held their regular meeting at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, at the Perry Township Municipal Building. Supervisors in attendance were: James Radich, Tim Boots and John Zias. Secretary/Treasurer Janice Marshall, Solicitor Greg Fox and two visitors were present.
Those in attendance were reminded that the Mountville Road Bridge is set to close from March 6 through November 2, 2018. The Route 488 second bridge over the Slippery Rock Creek is set to close from April 2 through the end of July. And that the Lawrence County Tax Outreach Day will be held at the Perry Township Municipal Building on March 22 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. for the payment of 2018 county taxes.
Boots motioned and Zias second to ratify the signing of the documents to combine Perry Township with Ellwood City and Ellport Borough for the low-income housing grants. Motion passed with all in favor.
A letter has been received that there will be no grant funding through Lawrence County this year.
No contract was received from PennDOT for the winter maintenance of Pleasant Hill Road. Boots to check on the possibility of doing an agility for work on McCartney Hollow Road slide area – placement of gabion baskets at bottom of slide area.
The suggestion was received to have a construction company come in and do the widening of the McCartney Hollow Road by the slide area and remove the tree stumps.
April:
The Perry Township Board of Supervisors held their regular meeting at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, at the Perry Township Municipal Building. Supervisors in attendance were: Tim Boots and John Zias. James Radich was absent. Secretary/Treasurer Janice Marshall, Solicitor Greg Fox and two visitors were present.
Boots motioned and Zias second to ratify the approval of two non-building waiver permits recommended by the County Planning and SEO. Motion passed with all in favor. Boots motioned and Zias second to ratify the signing of a letter/contract for the Barkley Road Bridge right of way and for the PennDOT right of way. Motion passed.
Boots discussed road work to be done this summer: River Road, Bates Road, and Breakneck if funds are available. The McCartney Hollow Road slide area is to be worked on as well.
Boots motioned and Zias second to purchase two fire Extinguishers for the road crew to carry in their trucks in case of witnessing a structure fire. Motion passed with all in favor.
There were two visitors present at the meeting and both had comments on road conditions.
“The curb needs replaced by my house, snow plowing, Palo Alto work,” said Visitor Delores Zadalac.
“Magee Road is bad, culvert replaced has settled,” said Visitor Ray Bauder.
