Dorothy “Dot” Anderson, 89, formerly of Shenango Twp. passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 at Northview Estates.
Born August 20, 1928 in Coalport, PA, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Vanda Gmerek Stiles Sr. She married Donald R. Anderson on July 12, 1956 and they were blessed with 57 years of marriage when he died September 15, 2013.
Dorothy was an active member of the Park Alliance Church. She had formerly worked at the Ellwood City Knitting Mill, Shenango Pottery, and Krebs Market. She enjoyed doing crafts and sewing. Dot also enjoyed cooking for the Wimodausis ladies group. Dorothy was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be sorely missed.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbi (Bob) Sudano and Linda Anderson, both of Ellwood City; son, Donald R, (Barbie) Anderson Jr. of Lyndonville, NY; two sisters, Betty (Henry) Rafacz of Wampum, Lilly Mills of Ellwood City; three sister in laws, Winnie Timkey of Ellwood City, Dorothy Bennett of WV, Barbara Anderson of Ohio; brother in law, Casimier Korowicki of Washington, PA; ,six grandchildren, Kristen (Goetz) Schaefer, Tammy (Gary) Rozanski, Ryan (Charlotte) Sudano, Evan Fennell, Haley and Steven Anderson; five great grandchildren, Keira and Jaxon Rozanski, and Marisa, Amelia, and Stella Sudano; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Rella Crofton, Jessie Korowicki, and three brothers, Andrew, Joseph, and Leonard Stiles.
Friends will be received on Thursday April 19 from 4-7 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11 am at the Park Alliance Church with Pastor John McCready officiating. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.
