[UPDATE 4/3/18] PennDOT has announced that a Route 488 detour in Wayne and Perry townships has been pushed back a week due to weather concerns.
The Portersville Road Bridge on Route 488 in Wayne and Perry townships will be closed to traffic through July 31.
Bridge replacement work will begin at 7 a.m. on Monday, April 9 on Route 488 over Slippery Rock Creek between Hickernell Road and Wurtemburg Road (Route 2003). The bridge will close to traffic continuously through Tuesday, July 31. All traffic will be detoured.
All traffic will be detoured for the duration of the project.

- Follow Route 488 to Route 65
- Take Route 65 northbound
- Turn right onto Wurtemburg Road
- Follow Wurtemburg Road back to Route 488
- End detour
East of the bridge
- Same detour in opposite direction

- Take Route 65 northbound
- Take the ramp to eastbound Route 422 toward Butler
- Take the ramp to Route 19 toward Mercer/Zelienople
- Turn right onto southbound Route 19
- Follow Route 19 back to Route 488

- Same detour in opposite direction
Mekis Construction Corporation is the prime contractor on this $4.26 million replacement project. Other work includes the demolition of the existing bridge, construction of new piers, abutment rehabilitation, roadway work, and drainage improvements.

I believe the closure will begin April 9, not April 2.
