Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following:
The library will be closed on Monday, February 19, in observance of the Presidents’ Day Holiday. Normal hours will resume on Tuesday, February 20.
Tuesday, February 20, at 1:30 p.m. – Afternoon Book Discussion Group for Adults. The group will discuss the book, “Harmony,” by Carolyn Parkhurst. New members are welcome, so call the library at 724-758-6458 for more information.
Tuesday, February 20, at 4:00 p.m. – The Library Anniversary Committee will meet to discuss upcoming events and fundraising activities. New members are welcome, so call the library for more information.
Wednesday, February 21, at 10:00 a.m. — “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. “Coloring for Adults” is a program designed to help reduce the stresses of everyday life. Everyone is welcome, so call the library for more information.
Wednesday, February 21, at 3:00 p.m. – Creative Writing Workshop for students in 7th grade and up. The group meets twice each month to share their work and discuss writing tips and techniques. Call the library for more information.
Thursday, February 22, at 6:00 p.m. — Adult Knitting Group whose members meet weekly to work on individual projects. New members are welcome, so call the library for more information.
“Movie Night for Adults” will resume its normal monthly schedule on Wednesday, February 28. Call the library for more information, for the rest of the spring dates or to discover the titles of the films to be shown this spring.
The spring sessions of Family Laptime and Preschool Story Time will begin the week of March 6 and continue through the week of April 23. Family Laptime is designed for babies, toddlers and preschoolers and the Preschool Story Time is designed for preschoolers 3 years of age and older. Featured at both programs are stories, songs, finger plays, games and more. Registration is requested, so call the library for more information.
The Rotary Club of Ellwood City will be at the library from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 10, to assist people in purchasing their tickets to this year’s performance of the Duquesne University Tamburitzans, scheduled for Sunday, March 25th at Lincoln High School.
