June Flynt-Barton, 92, of Aliquippa, formerly of Wampum, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 at the West Hills Health and Rehab Center in Coraopolis.
June was born in Wampum on November 26, 1925. A daughter of the late Vincent Ray McBride and Iva E. McBride, she lived there for 70 years before moving to Aliquippa in 1995.
June was primarily a homemaker, but while in Wampum was an active member of the Wampum Presbyterian Church, serving as a Sunday School Teacher, Elder, and Bible Study Leader. She also served as the borough tax collector for twelve years. June loved to dance, and she wrote poetry occasionally. She traveled to 49 states as well as Japan and South Korea.
In her later years, June was a member of the Mount Carmel Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Aliquippa.
June was preceded in death by a son, Douglas, in 1982, her husbands, Milton Flynt in 1984, Louis A “Tony” Gulino in 2003, and Robert Barton in 2012.
June is survived by her brother, General William V. (Kathryn) McBride (USAF Ret) of San Antonio, TX and a sister, Joyce E. McBride of Lakeland, FL.
She is also survived by her children, Raymond Flynt of Orlando, FL, Richard Flynt and his wife, Sup of Daytona Beach, FL, and April Flynt Rosendale and her husband, Carl of North Mankato, MN. June is also survived by four grandchildren, David (Trinh) Flynt, Michael (Noriko) Flynt, Ann Rosendale (Kyle Alberty), Chelsea Rosendale, and by four great-grandchildren, Leo, Luna, Arthur, and Edith.
June’s friends and family will be received on Wednesday December 27 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home. Wampum. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Elizabeth Wallace of the Wampum Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Clinton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Wampum Presbyterian Church or the Mt. Carmel Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
