Guy J. Aromatorio, 88, of Main St., Wampum passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 at UPMC – Jameson Hospital following a brief illness.
A lifelong resident, Guy was born July 28, 1929 in Wampum. He was the son of the late George and Jennie Bennett Aromatorio. He was married to Betty L. Houk Aromatorio who passed away May 10, 1999.
Guy retired as the Ambridge Plant Manager from Babcock and Wilcox. A devout Catholic, Guy was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish in Ellwood City. He had served on the parish council at the former St. Monica Church in Wampum for many years. Guy was a longtime Wampum Boro Councilman. His most cherished time was spent with his family, especially his grand and great grandchildren.
Survivors include three daughters, Ardith K. Blackburn and Bettejean (Brad) Davidson, both of Ellwood City, Janice L. (Tom) McNickle of New Wilmington; son, Jeffrey G. Aromatorio of Cranberry Twp.; three brothers, Angelo of Wampum, Albert of Alabama, and Ronald of Latrobe; six grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Snyder, two brothers, Raymond and Gene Aromatorio, and a son in law, Cliff Blackburn.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday December 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church at 10 am with Rev. Father Mark Thomas officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Peter’s Mausoleum.
