This week the Ellwood City Boys Varsity team played against Freedom and Steel Valley earlier this week, collecting victories in both games and bringing their overall score to 5-2. The Wolverines ousted the Bulldogs 78-62 on Monday and defeated Steel Valley 54-42 on Tuesday. Ellwood City boys will open up section play tonight hosting the New Brighton Lions starting at 7:30p.m.
Riverside’s Boys Varsity team played against Aliquippa on Wednesday, losing to the top ranked and undefeated ‘Quips 66-35. This brought their overall record to 3-2 on the young season. The Panthers don’t have another game scheduled until after the New Year on 1/3/18, against Shenango.
The Ellwood City Girls Varsity team also played two games this week, falling to Beaver (57-30) on Tuesday and Neshannock (42-22) on Thursday, bringing their season record to 2-4. They will be playing their tournament against New Castle on 12/27 and 12/28.
Riverside’s girls team is on a roll, remaining undefeated with victories over Laurel Monday night (53-44) and Beaver Falls on Thursday (49-48). The Lady Panthers season record now stands at 6-0. Their next match is their LGKG Classic, which will be held on 12/28 against Hopewell.
