The Riverside annual Haunted Hayride, sponsored by Riverside Outdoor Athletic Renovation (ROAR) starts tonight from 7-9p.m.
The Haunted Hayride is one of several fundraisers conducted by ROAR throughout the year. Nearly 200 volunteers come together to create a fun event for the community, and over 1100 people enjoyed the experience.
This year, Roar has had the assistance of a Riverside alumni, John Guerrini. He has been the mastermind behind many of tge scene of this year’s hayride. He created props and eerie creatures. His work can be found on his Facebook page called Omega FX.
This year a walking trail toward the end of the wagon ride has been added and guests are welcome to take a walk through the woods and be extra-spooked! Enter at your own risk.
There is a non-spooky ride for young riders from 6-7p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Food and drinks available on site.
Funds raised will benefit the construction of new public restrooms and athletic rooms at the Riverside Memorial Stadium.
The other nights for the hayride will be Oct 14 from 6-10p.m. and October 15 from 6-9p.m.
Price of tickets are $5 for non-spooky and $8 for spooky.
A MESSAGE FROM ROAR:
ROAR appreciated the community’s continual support and is excited to launch a new fundraising campaign at the Hayride called Panther Power. This campaign focuses on the community working together and the power of what participation can achieve. If 1500 alumni, friends, residents and business pitch in $100 each and 10 companies make a donation of $10,000 each, ROAR should be able to achieve their goal to provide public restrooms and athletics rooms at Riverside Memorial Stadium. To find out more information about ROAR, and to donate online you can visit www.readytoroar.com.
