Ms. Marsha A. Barkay, 63, of Ellwood City passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at the Honor Health Hospital in Phoenix, AZ.
Marsha was born on October 22, 1953 in Ellwood City to the late William and Roberta A. Straley Barkay. She is a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1971. She also graduated from Thiel College with a degree in Business and Biology and from Slippery Rock University with a masters degree in Nuclear Medicine. She had worked at the former St. Frances Hospital in New Castle and then at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Youngstown and Boardman as a nuclear medicine technician. Marsha was a member of the Lillyville Church of God and the Municipal Women’s Club. She loved her animals, and enjoyed playing cards, shopping, sports, and mostly making people smile.
Marsha is survived by he sister Alana (David) Laird of Phoenix, AZ, her brothers William R. Barkay of Ellwood City and Richard (Stephanie) Barkay of Calcutta, OH.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from Noon until the time of the service at 2:00 pm in the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services. Marsha’s pastor Rev. Dennis Arndt will officiate. Inurnment will be at the Grandview Cemetery.
