Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following:
Monday, October 2, through Saturday, October 7 – The library’s Annual Book Sale will take place. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday; and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Monday will also feature a bake sale. A wide variety of books, DVDs, Audio CDs and more will be available at the sale. Saturday is “Bag Day” which offers an opportunity for shoppers to purchase a bag full of books of their choosing for $5. The bags will be provided by the library. Tuesday, October 3, at 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. — Family Laptime, designed for babies as young as 6 months of age, toddlers and preschoolers. This fall session will be held weekly on Tuesdays. Featured are stories, songs, finger plays and more. Registration is requested, so call the library for more information.
Wednesday, October 3, at 10:00 a.m. — “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. “Coloring for Adults” is a program designed to help reduce the stresses of everyday life. Everyone is welcome, so call the library for more information.
Thursday, October 4, at 10:00 a.m. — Preschool Storytime, designed for children 3 years of age and older. Featured are stories, songs, finger plays and more. This fall session will be held each week on Thursdays. Registration is requested, so call the library for more information.
A Halloween Party for preschoolers and early elementary-aged children will be held on Thursday, October 19. Kids are invited to wear their costumes. The event will feature stories, games, fun activities and more. Registration is required, so call the library for more information.
“Silly Science and Lego Days” will be held on Saturday, October 14, this month. Normally this activity is held the first Saturday of each month, but was changed for October due to the book sale.
A gardening program on “Night Gardening” will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 17. The program is presented by the Master Gardeners of Lawrence County. There is a $5 fee to attend which is shared by the Master Gardeners and the library. Registration is requested, but walk-ins are welcome. Call the library for more information.
This month’s “Movie Night for Adults” will be held on Wednesday, October 25, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Featured are new-to-DVD films and refreshments. Call the library for more information or to discover the title of the film to be shown.
