Venezie’s Sporting Goods 4, Firing Squad 3 In the opening game of the 2017 summer session, Venezie’s Sporting Goods came away with the late win on a goal from Dalton Loccissano. Scoring was spread throughout the Venezie’s lineup with Spencer Gibbons, Steve Steffler, and Ron Lewis Automotive employee of the month Nick Kirsch also finding the net. Preston Blackburn, Ben Krummert, and Jimmy Sabatino notched goals in a close game.
Honey Badgers 5, Marauders 4
Dante Nardulli collected a hat trick for the Honey Badgers in their shootout win. Austin Smith picked up 2 goals for the Marauders and Frank Todorich collected 6 penalty minutes as he attempts to repeat as the Stiefel Roller Hockey league’s most penalized player.
Craig’s Hardware 5, Turn4 Toilets 4
In a rematch of last year’s B-league Championship, Craig’s Hardware took down the defending champions by scoring 3 unanswered goals in the 3rd period. Leading the way for Craig’s was team captain Travis Whalen with 2 goals. Zach Gallaher scored 2 goals in a solid effort that went down the toilet.
Venezie’s Sporting Goods 3, Darkness 2
Steve Steffler collected both of Venezie’s regulation goals in his team’s shootout win over Darkness. Cliff Bryant had a goal and an assist for Darkness in the loss.
Firing Squad 10, Rochester KM 1
Matt Ledonne started the scoring off for Rochester, but Firing Squad responded with 10 unanswered goals including 5 in the 3rd period to start the rout. Issac Knight collected 4 goals for the winners to lead all players in Week 1 action.
