Activities scheduled at the library include the following:
Wedesday, May 3, at 10:00 a.m. — “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. “Coloring for Adults” is a new concept in helping to reduce the stresses of everyday life. Everyone is welcome, so call the library at 724-758-6458 for more information.
Wednesday, May 3, at 6:30 p.m. – Evening Book Discussion Group for Adults. The group will discuss the book, “The Quality of Silence,” by Rosamund Lupton. More information is available by calling the library.
Thursday, May 4, at 3:00 p.m. – “Hooked on Books,” a book discussion group for students in 6th through 8th grades. The group will discuss the book, “The Great Trouble,” by Deborah Hopkinson. Call the library for more information.
Thursday, May 4, at 6:00 p.m. – Adult Knitting Group whose members meet each week to work on individual projects. More information is available by calling the library.
“Movie Night for Adults,” featuring new-to-DVD films and refreshments, will be held on May 24. The schedule of movies to be shown has changed slightly, so please call the library for more information and to discover the title of the film to be shown. All area adults are welcome to attend this free monthly program.
Plans for the library’s Summer Reading Program are in place and feature a variety of activities for toddlers, preschoolers, elementary-aged children and teens. Among the events featured will be the Puppet Theater Workshop , “Build a Better World” weekly program for kids in kindergarten through 3rd grade, “Jump Start to Kindergarten,” Family Laptime, book discussion groups, “Silly Saturdays: Science Experiments and Legos,” and much more.
Those interested in attending any or all of the programming are asked to call the library for more information and to register.
