Ellwood City Wolverines fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 8-1 loss to Riverside on Wednesday.
Riverside scored on a single by Will Yasenka, a single by Anthony Tollari, and a fielder’s choice by Ricky Wass in the second inning.
Riverside captured the lead in the second inning. With one out in the second inning Will Yasenka drove in one run when he singled.
Cristian Cicchinelli earned the win for Riverside. He threw six innings, allowing one run, three hits, and striking out four.
Tyler Good took the loss for Ellwood City Wolverines. He tossed four innings, allowing six runs, four hits, striking out two, and walking one.
Good, Max Keally, and Mitch Fraser each managed one hit to lead Ellwood City Wolverines.
Riverside collected nine hits. Anthony Tollari, Yasenka, and Dylan Speicher each collected multiple hits for Riverside.
