Two local residents, Scott and Caroline Golmic, have a vision for the old Blocher Jewelers building, located at 507 Lawrence Ave – to turn it into an ice cream parlor.
Scott stated that after a long period of decision making, it was decided upon that an ice cream shop would be something that would not only benefit the local Ellwood community, but “bringing ice-cream back to Lawrence Avenue” is a dream the duo would like to pursue; and thus the idea for Sweet Caroline’s was born.
They has been actively working toward making the vision a reality, even teaming up with Windy Ridge Dairy to supply them with a wide variety of ice cream flavors.
“To set our products apart from the rest, we decided to team up with Windy Ridge. People who have had Windy Ridge Dairy ice cream know they have an unbeatable recipe and we don’t want to give our customers the option for anything less than the best,” Scott stated, furthering that after opening they will be focused on expanding their menu to provide healthy options and alternatives.
While the couple will be retaining some of the buildings authentic original style, they plan on accenting the originality with some modernization for the ultimate friendly and inviting cafe atmosphere.
Although there is no set opening date yet, the Golmic’s have been working closely with the Borough and other partners to estimate the shops opening sometime in or around May.

I love the idea of another ice cream shop in Ellwood City. I have an Isaly’s village piece and still remember the “skyscraper ice cream cone”. I used to live at 405 Lawrence Avenue. My Dad owned Turner’s Barber Shop.
Always room for ice cream, good luck on your adventure
