Harry T. Kauffman, 81, of North Sewickley Township passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, March 7 2017 at the Ellwood City Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was a union trucker for 30 years, and worked for Quality Carriers trucking. He loved his job, and always said “ the bigger the truck, the better”.
Harry was proud that he had driven over 1 million miles completely accident-free.
He loved all his vehicles and loved to travel.
He loved spending time with his family. Harry was a loving husband, father, stepfather, and “pa” and “great pa”.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Hart McDanel Kauffman, and one son and daughter: John Kauffman and Tammy Foust, both of Blairsville PA; and stepchildren: Warren (and Sue) Hart; Duane (and Julieann) Hart; and Charlene ( and Mike) Sundgaard; and Lita Hart.
One sister, Betty Hayuza, of Irwin PA also survives and several grandchildren: Amanda, Tori, Hanah, Luke, Brian, Kristen, Evan, Leah, Sarah, Skip, Ethan, Alyssa, Nathan, and Audrey; and two great grandchildren: Rylee and Owen.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by three brothers.
Friends will be received from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Friday, March 10 2017 in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME, 500 Sixth Street, Ellwood City.
Services will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. on Friday, March 10, 2017 at TURNERS, with the Rev. Bruce Allen of Riverview Country Chapel , officiating.
Burial will be in St. Marks Lutheran Cemetery, Franklin Twp.
