Join the Ellwood City Area Historical Society and the Ellwood City Community in honoring Hack Wilson – a baseball legend born in Ellwood City in 1900, who rivaled the mighty Babe Ruth.
His 1930 statistics included the “unbreakable” record of 191 runs batted in a National League leading 56 home runs (a record that stood for 68 years), .356 batting average, and a league-leading .723 slugging percentage.
ECAHS invites the community to join them for an on-field ceremony, “Bat for Hack”, honoring Hack on April 26, 2017, at PNC Park when the Pirates play the World Champion Cubs.
200 fans are needed, to reserve your seat tickets cost $40 and includes a $10 food/drink/gift voucher for use at PNC Park, include your name, phone number, address and email with a check made payable to ECAHS and mailed to ECAHS, 310 Fifth St., Ellwood City Pa, 16117.
