According to the criminal complaint, two males will be facing burglary charges after an incident that occurred on Christmas Day at approximately 11:45p.m. at a residence on Spring Avenue.

When officers arrived they made contact with the homeowner who stated the two males were William Norris Pearson IV, 25, of Ellwood City, and Ridge Cox, 22, of Ellwood City, and they kicked in the door of his residence and assaulted him by punching his face and that he believed their motive may had been ongoing arguments between him and the males starting earlier in the week.
There were obvious signs of a break in at the residence including boot marks on the door and rear door damage.
Officers cleared and were called back to the residence about half an hour later for reports of a physical fight outside of the residence, where officers then made contact with Pearson who was fleeing the scene on Plum Way, west on Spring Avenue. Pearson had a cut above his right eye which was still actively bleeding. Officers questioned Pearson who was extremely intoxicated and claimed he did not recall what had occurred.
A witness to the fight said that after officers had left Cox and Pearson showed back up at the residence and started a physical fight.
The victim went to UPMC Presbyterian for treatment of his wounds.
Cox is facing charges of burglary, aggravated assault, simple assault, and criminal mischief. Pearson will be facing charges of burglary, aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats, and public drunkenness.
