Monaca, PA – Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) and Geneva College are expanding their partnership to provide students with more opportunities as they pursue associate and bachelor’s degrees.
Recently, the two local institutions met to sign new articulation agreements for eight CCBC associate degree programs that will transfer seamlessly to corresponding bachelor’s degree programs at Geneva. By signing the agreements, the two colleges will provide students with educational pathways that allow them to more efficiently build credentials in fields that address high-priority regional workforce needs.
“Our long-standing partnership with Geneva is broadened and strengthened through these new agreements. As institutions of higher education, we share a common goal of providing access and opportunity for students from all backgrounds to earn post-secondary credentials and secure meaningful futures for themselves and their families,” said CCBC President Dr. Chris Reber.
“Geneva College is excited about developing these new agreements with CCBC because of the value for students and the ability to serve students together,” said Geneva College President Dr. Calvin L. Troup. “The new approach of using creativity and collaboration in higher education is essential in addressing the ever-changing needs of students.”
Through the agreements, students who earn their associate degree at CCBC are able to transfer all earned credits into an equivalent bachelor’s degree program at Geneva. This provides a more cost-effective pathway for students to earn an associate degree and then continue their education, and ensures that students are academically prepared for transfer to Geneva, thus improving retention and graduation rates at both institutions.
The signing at CCBC’s Center Township campus puts in place articulation agreements for the following programs:
