Used Needles Litter Public Park
According to the police report, on Nov. 28 a juvenile came to the station to report that he had found a syringe at the Community Park in the 500 Block of Lawrence Ave. An officer accompanied the young man to the scene and the syringe was recovered, and upon further searching, three more syringes were found.
Criminal Mischief on Loop Street
According to the police report, officers were dispatched to Loop St. on Nov. 29 for a criminal mischief complaint. Upon officers arrival, a home owner said she was watching T.V. when the T.V. mysteriously lost signal and two minutes before the incident she coincidentally saw a teenager standing near her satellite dish perhaps tampering with it. The signal loss prompted her to check the satellite and she noticed the wire to the dish had been cut. She stated that this was not the first time this had happened to her dish. The officer spoke with a 17 year old juvenile who claimed that he had been playing with a pocketknife and he further admitted to cutting the wires. The officer advised the teens parents that they will have to pay for the repair.
Package Thief
According to the police report, on Nov. 28 a Mt. Vernon Drive resident called the police to report a theft that had occurred earlier in the day. Around 2p.m. the resident had two packages delivered to their front porch and before the packages could be moved into a safer spot, an unknown actor may have stolen them anytime between when they were dropped off to 6p.m. Several items were in the packages that came from Kohl’s, including two sonic care electric tooth brushes totaling at a $59.00 value, a Vera Wang perfume set for $21.00, two Tony Hawk fleece hoodies valued at $18.00 each, four card games valued at $12.00 each, a set of earrings for $5.00 and a $10.00 scarf. The case is under further investigation.
