Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following:
Wednesday, November 30, at 10:00 a.m. — “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. “Coloring for Adults” is a new concept in helping to reduce the stresses of everyday life. Everyone is welcome, so call the library at 724-758-6458 for more information.
Wednesday, November 30, at 3:00 p.m. – Creative Writing Workshop for students in 7th grade and up. The group meets twice each month to share their work and discuss writing tips and techniques. Call the library for more information.
Wednesday, November 30, at 6:00 p.m. — “Movie Night for Adults,” monthly events open to all area adults free of charge. New-to-DVD films are shown and refreshments are available. This is the last movie for the year — no film is shown in December or in January. These monthly movie nights will resume in February.
Thursday, December 1, at 3:00 p.m. – “Hooked on Books,” a book discussion group designed for students in 6th through 8th grades. The group will discuss the book, “Endangered,” by Eliot Shrefer. Call the library for more information.
Thursday, December 1, at 6:00 p.m. – Adult Knitting Group. The group meets weekly at the library with members working on individual projects and providing their own materials. New members are always welcome, so call the library for more information.
Saturday, December 3, at 12:00 Noon – “Twenty-Something Book Discussion Group,” designed for college-aged students and people in their 20s. The group meets once each month for discussion. Call the library for more information.
The date of the “Holiday Family Movie” event has been changed from Saturday, December 3, to Saturday, December 10, due to the Ellwood City Christmas Parade. The event, which begins at 2:00 p.m., is free and open to all area children and their families. Children 10 years of age and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Call the library for more information or to discover the title of the film to be shown.
A “Holiday Story Time” for preschoolers will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6. Featured will be holiday stories, songs, finger plays and more. Call the library for more information.
